The basics

One source covers for another

Every renewable source has a gap. Solar stops at sunset. Wind drops on a still day. A hybrid system pairs them — commonly solar with a battery, or solar with wind, or solar with hydro — so the weakness in one is filled by the other.

A smart controller sits in the middle, watching what is available and what the building needs, and drawing from the cheapest and cleanest source at that moment. The grid or a generator stays as the last fallback rather than the default.

Worth knowing before you decide: hybrid systems with batteries are not eligible for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy. You are choosing backup power over the ₹78,000.
